The Africa Jam Team Consists Of:

Ellen Ruiters: Executive Director
ellen@myafricajam.org

Ellen Ruiters founded Africa Jam in 2001 after recognizing a need for safe, youth-empowering after school and faith development activities. Ruiters has been involved in youth development and ministry for more than 20 years. She served as an inner-city educator for Right Step Academy and has held leadership positions with Young Life, Tree House and the Youth Forum Summer Festival and received the 2007 alumni service award from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minn., USA.

 

Eugene Ohlson: Program Manager

Eugene Ohlson serves as Africa Jam Programs Manager. Having a background and passion for Youth Development, Eugene has been serving as part of the Africa Jam staff since 2012.

 

 

Jacoline Hendricks: Office Administration

Jacky first got involved with Africa Jam as a youth participant attending camps and community small grou when she was in high school. Jacky currently serves as the office administrator for Africa Jam. She can be reached at info@myafricajam.org.

Xhanti Nxazisa: Community Leader Coordinator/ Admin Support

While in high school, Xhanti was  part of the first group of youth to attend Africa Jam Camp from the Mbekweni Paarl area. A volunteer with the organization since 2015, Xhanti joined the organization as staff member in 2016.

Ingrid Kruger-Van Wyk: Youth Counselor

Ingrid’s primary focus is on Lotus River and expanding the impact of the ministry in this community also with Africa Jam camps and leadership developement.

 

 

 

Ntsiki Maboza: Youth Field Worker

Ntsiki has been part of the Khayelitsha youth group since she was in 9th Grade. She has been facilitating arts programs with senior and junior youth group members in her community since joining the team of staff in 2014.

Christo Williams: Youth Field Worker

Christo serves as Africa Jam Ottery field worker. Christo has been volunteering with Africa Jam since 2011.  He was also part of the first group of graduates for the 2012 gap year program through Cape Bible Training College in collaboration with Africa Jam,  and member of  staff since in 2013.

Africa Jam has a South African board that is committed to raising funds, spreading the word about Africa Jam’s mission and supporting the youth development work that is transforming South Africa.

 

United States Board
